John Frood, born either in Douglas, Lanarkshire c.1805 or Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire, c.1800. Neither year seems particularly likely as they coincide with brothers Alexander (b. 1800) and James (b.1806). It is possible that ‘John’ is one of these two.
John married Mary McIlquham (b. Glasgow, Lanarkshire c.1803), daughter of Walter McIlquham and Marion Williamson.

Mary died in Clyde Street, Partick, Lanarkshire on 24 January 1872, age 68.

Walter married Jean Gemmel (b. Douglas, Lanarkshire c.1807). They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Douglas on 31 May 1835.
