Walter died in Ayr on 19 September 1947, age 73. His address is given as Erskine Villa, Duntocher, and his death was registered in Dunbartonshire.

Catherine returned to Scotland, arriving in Southampton on 21 March 1956 aboard the M.V. Rangitata, giving her intended address as ‘Cardross, Dunbartonshire’.
Catherine died at Henry Brock Hospital, Dumbarton on 19 December 1958, age 84. Her usual address is Craddock House, Milton, Dunbartonshire.
