James Strang and Janet Baird‘s parents and places and dates of birth are unknown.

Helen Strang, born in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire on 24 March 1784.

Helen married William Shearer (b. Glassford, Lanarkshire c.1774). They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Avondale on 4 April 1807.

Helen and William are at Highflat Farm, East Kilbride, Lanarkshire on the 1841 and 1851 Census.

Helen died at Highflat Farm on 22 February 1860, age 76.

Christopher Strang, born in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire c.1785.

Christopher married Lilias Wilson (b. East Kilbride, Lanarkshire c.1789). They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of East Kilbride on 12 March 1809. Christopher is said to be ‘in Glassford’.

Christopher and Lilias are at Picketlaw Farm, Carmunnock, Lanarkshire on the 1841 and 1851 Census.

Christopher, now widowed, is at Picketlaw Farm on the 1861 Census.

Christopher died at Picketlaw Farm, Carmunnock, Lanarkshire on 16 December 1861, age 75.

James Strang, born in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire c.1790.

James married Elizabeth Jamieson (b. Netherton Farm, Eaglesham, Renfrewshire and baptised on 20 October 1799), daughter of William Jamieson and Margaret Martinholm. They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Eaglesham on 14 April 1818.

Elizabeth and James are at Bonnyton Farm, Eaglesham on the 1841 Census. They are possibly there in 1851 as well, however Bonnyton Farm appears to have been missed off that year’s census.

James Strang, now widowed, died at Bowhouse Farm, Carmunnock, Lanarkshire on 7 December 1860, age 70.

Marion Strang, born on 10 March 1789.

Marion married Robert Fleming (b. Carmunnock, Lanarkshire on 23 January 1787). They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Carmunnock on 22 May 1824 and in the parish of Eaglesham on 1 June 1824.

Marion and Robert are at Hole of Dripps, Cathcart, Renfrewshire on the 1841 Census and at Hillhouse, Cathcart on the 1851 Census.

Marion died at Westhills, Cathkin on 10 June 1858, age 67.

Robert died in Carmunnock on 23 September 1863, age 76.
