Andrew Bain Carmichael, born in Parkneuk, Dunfermline on 14 February 1893.

Andrew was working as a Grocer for the Co-Operative Wholesale Society in Cumnock, Ayrshire, when he enlisted in the army in 1914. He was a Private in the 9th Battalion Black Watch (Royal Highlanders).

Andrew was killed in the First World War, age 22. He was reported missing in the Dunfermline Press of 5 November 1915. According to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission his official date of death is the 25 September 1915 – the date of the Battle of Loos. He is commemorated in the Loos Memorial Cemetery in the Pas de Calais, France.

Lindsay died at Luscar House, Carnock, Fife on 24 June 1985, age 87. His occupation was Armament Depot Storeman.
