Janet Reid, born Glassford, Lanarkshire c,1790, daughter of Robert Reid and Jean Hamilton.

Thomas, now widowed, is at Mid Enoch Farm, Eaglesham on the 1861 Census.

CHILDREN

Jean Watt, born in Millwell, Glassford, Lanarkshire c.1815.

Jean married William Dickie (b. Mauchline, Ayrshire on 1 July 1805), son of James Dickie and Margaret Wilson. They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of East Kilbride on 16 March 1834.

Jean and William are in Leaburn, East Kilbride on the 1841 Census, where William’s occupation is Wright.

They are at Rutheran Farm, Glassford, Lanarkshire on the 1851 and 1861 Census.

William died at Rutheran Farm on 16 October 1861, age 56.

Jean is in the Free Church Manse, Glassford on the 1871 Census and in Walston Place Farmhouse, East Kilbride on the 1881 Census.

Jean died at Shawtonhill Farm, Glassford on 1 June 1886, age 71.

John is at Shields Farm on the 1841 and 1851 Census.

John married Janet Watson (b. Eaglesham, Renfrewshire c.1834).

John, now widowed, died at 18 Montgomery Street, Eaglesham on 17 January 1887, age 58. His occupation is Innkeeper (retired).

Agnes Watt, born in Glassford c.1830.

Agnes is at Shields Farm on the 1841 and 1851 Census.

Agnes married James Stewart (b. Loudoun, Ayrshire on 23 July 1826), son of John Stewart and Marion Mitchell, at Enoch Farm on 27 November 1857.

Agnes and James are at Carrot Farm, Eaglesham on the 1861, 1871 and 1881 Census, and at Ardoch Farm, Eaglesham on the 1891 Census.

Agnes died in Eaglesham on 10 March 1899, age 69.

James died in Eaglesham on 19 May 1908, age 81.

Alexander Watt, born in Glassford c.1835.

Alexander is at Shields Farm on the 1841 Census.

Alexander married Janet Carslaw (b. Eaglesham, Renfrewshire c.1839), daughter of James Carslaw and Mary Strang, in Eaglesham on 31 June 1861.

Janet died in Tradeston, Glasgow, Lanarkshire on 6 November 1866, age 27.

DEATHS

Janet died at Enoch Farm, Eaglesham, Renfrewshire on 15 February 1860, age 68.

Thomas married again, to Janet Hunter (b. East Kilbride on 2 March 1799), daughter of Andrew Hunter and Janet Paterson, at 93 Waterloo Street in Blythswood, Glasgow on 2 June 1861. Janet was a widow; her married name was Cameron. Her place of residence is given as Bothwell.

They are at Over Enoch Farm, Eaglesham on the 1871 Census.

Janet died in Cheapside, Eaglesham on 17 June 1876, age 77. Her previous husband’s name is not recorded.

Thomas died in Cheapside, Eaglesham on 11 January 1879, age 88.
