Gavin Semple, born in Lesmahgow on 22 September 1784.

Gavin married Margaret Reid, daughter of Robert Reid and Jean Hamilton. They were proclaimed for marriage in the parish of Avondale, Lanarkshire on 14 January 1809.

Gavin and Margaret are at West Drumloch Farm, Glassford on the 1841 and 1851 Census.

Gavin died in Glassford in 1857.

Margaret died at West Drumloch Farm on 15 February 1873, age 84.
